CALL TO ORDER
Representative Cowdery, Chairman, convened the House Special
Committee on International Trade and Tourism meeting at 3:20 p.m.
PRESENT
Committee members present at the call to order were Representatives
Cowdery, Joule, Elton, Phillips, Kott and Ryan. Other legislators
present were Austerman and Nicholia.
SUMMARY OF INFORMATION
REPRESENTATIVE COWDERY presented his opening remarks.
REPRESENTATIVE PHILLIPS presented her opening remarks.
LUBOV FYORDOROVNA SHUBINA, First Deputy, Second Sakhalin Regional
Duma, presented an overview of the Sakhalin Duma Delegation and
asked questions regarding Alaska's seafood industry.
KONSTANTIN PETROVICH SUKHOREBRIK, Deputy, Second Sakhalin Regional
Duma; and Director, Sakhalin Aviastrassy, discussed the importance
of a good working relationship in all areas.
VIC FISCHER translated Mrs. Shubina's and Mr. Sukhorebrik's
testimony.
Each committee member gave an overview of their district.
COMMITTEE ACTION
The committee took no action.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 4:15 p.m.
